GUATEMALA

Guatemala has ideal conditions for coffee production. The country's biodiversity is due to lush rainforests, mountain ranges, and volcanic activity. Microclimates created by the mountain ranges and volcanic activity contribute to the rich soil of the region. Coffee producers are always looking for the best growing conditions. The diversity of microclimates allow producers to differentiate themselves and provide a wide range of flavor profiles. Coffee is Guatemala’s biggest industry with an estimated 120,000 coffee producers; almost all of them are considered small growers

 

ETHIOPIA

Ethiopia is recognized as the birthplace of coffee. Their production of diverse coffee flavors range from citrus to floral to even tropical fruit flavors. Today, Ethiopia is the 5th largest coffee producer and is known worldwide for having some of the highest quality coffee. This is due to their growing climate at high altitudes on mountain-side farms. Ethiopia produces the heirloom varieties of Arabica coffee.

 

COLOMBIA

Coffee is an important part of Colombian culture and national identity. It is not just a drink, but a massive contributor to Colombian livelihood and economy. There are over half a million coffee farms all around the country and 95% of them are small, family-operated farms. Around 75% of coffee production is exported to other countries due to the fantastic quality and care.

 

TIMOR LESTE

Timor-Leste, or East Timor, is located on the eastern half of the island of Timor is Southeast Asia. Coffee production in this region is not as significant to their culture as other regions, but it is unique! The Timor Hybrid is one of coffee’s most adaptive genetic crosses. The island’s isolation allows for the preservation of the typica variety of coffee. From the humid coats and lush highlands, Timor-Leste brings delicate yet complex flavors to the coffee world. 

 

PAPUA NEW GUINEA

 Located just North of Australia, the eastern half of the island of New Guinea, Papua New Guinea is one of our newest imports. Coffee of Papua New Guinea, “PNG”, is grown in mountainous highlands with rich soil and ideal climates. PNG coffee is beautifully balanced with just the right amount of acidity, smooth mouthfeel, and a clean finish. 

 

PERU

Located just south of Colombia, a country knowns almost primarily for their coffee production, is Peru. Peru is a hidden gem in the coffee world. Our newest coffee is grown in high elevation and densely forested areas. Balanced with sweet and rich flavor notes, Peruvian coffee is rich and bold no matter how it’s brewed.

 

KENYA

Another African coffee powerhouse is Kenya. Although struggles come from unstable weather, unclear government coffee policy, and unpredictable coffee auction system, Kenya produces wonderful coffee. With rich flavor notes and sophisticated mouthfeel, Kenyan coffee is not one to miss.
